<P><a href=”http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml”>Usher</a> admits that “over the last three years of my life, it’s no secret I went through some heavy transitions.” And he’s not joking. In 2009, he filed for a <a href=”/news/articles/1613894/usher-files-divorce.jhtml”>divorce from his wife</a>, Tameka Foster, after <a href=”/news/articles/1566367/usher-gets-married-after-all.jhtml”>marrying her in 2007</a>. In the lead-up to the split, their relationship certainly came with drama, including a rift with his mother and a major health scare for Foster during a 2009 trip to Brazil.</P><P>And even with his divorce finalized, Usher is still in and out of court dealing with custody issues over their two sons, Usher and Naviyd. However, he is ready to put all that drama aside now that he’s purged those emotions for his June 12 album release, the aptly titled <a href=”/news/articles/1685178/usher-looking-4-myself.jhtml”><i>Looking 4 Myself</i></a>.</P><P>”There’s an emotional side to it. Over the last three years of my life, it’s no secret I went through some heavy transitions and in that I really came out new,” he told MTV News during “MTV First.” “I came out feeling a sense of entitlement and a sense of ownership of all of that I went through to become better and in being able to survive it.</P><P></p><div class=”player-placeholder right” title=”Usher Gets Shot In His ‘Climax’ Performance” id=”vid:767991.id:1685137” width=”415” height=”255”></div><p></P><P>”So I was looking for something in the music,” he continued. “I was looking for something in life. I was looking for something in it has always been right here. It has always been there. So I kind of used the music as a dairy in a way, but a creative, artistic, art-in-motion diary.”</P><P>But, Usher is no stranger to putting his drama to music. With albums titled <i>Confessions</i> and <i>Raymond v. Raymond,</i> he has always put his personal business right where people can hear it.</P><P>”Oddly, I’ve unfortunately left my life an open book,” he said. “So every record people would assume that each and every detail is specific, even the videos.”</P><P>That includes his most recent clip for “Climax,” which follows jilted lover Usher as he contemplates shooting his girl’s other man. Soon, he charges in the house, and a gunshot is fired off. What’s unclear is whether it’s reality or just Usher’s fantasy.</P><P>”OK, I’m not sitting out in front of somebody’s house and shoot up the crib, just so you know,” he joked. ” ‘Climax’ was an interpretation to really give people a better understanding ‘cause I felt like people really looked at the record for what you heard first, which was ‘Climax’. So, people thought ‘sex.’ It’s not about sex. Well, climax is about sex, but not the song. Just so we’re clear.”</P><P>The Diplo-produced track actually has more to do with the events of the last few years of his life than events in the bedroom. “The song is really about kind of the crescendo of a relationship, where you’ve reached a place where you’re gonna dive in or let it go,” he said. “And the ‘Climax’ is what it is.”</p>

Fox comedy will also move to Thursday, like ‘X Factor,’ where Brit has signed on to judge.

<P>After drawing <a href=”/news/articles/1648982/britney-spears-glee-episode-draws-record-setting-ratings.jhtml”>record ratings the first time around, “Glee”</a> has announced plans to pay homage to <a href=”http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml”>Britney Spears</a> … one more time. The news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Spears will join the “X Factor” as judge, when the competition show returns to Fox this fall on Thursday nights. (Glee also moves to Thursdays for season four.)</P><P>While Brit appeared in the September 2010 tribute episode, which used her impressive collection of hits, the 2012 tribute episode will instead focus on her “Glee” namesake, Brittany S. Pierce (played by Heather Morris), without any appearances from Spears. <a href=”http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/05/15/glee-scoop-second-britney-tribute-exclusive” target=”_blank”>EW.com</a> reports that the new episode will be the second in the show’s fourth season, returning in the fall.</P><P>The Spears-centric episode will feature eight of her songs, and a source revealed that Fox is excited to have Spears joining the network on “X Factor” and that the “Glee” ep is partly a reflection of that.</P><P>Spears was on hand Monday at the Fox Upfront presentation in New York City, where she appeared alongside fellow <a href=”/news/articles/1685057/demi-lovato-britney-spears-x-factor.jhtml”>”X Factor” newbie Demi Lovato</a>, as well as returning judges L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell. At the event, the judges and host of “So You Think You Can Dance” weighed in on the <a href=”/news/articles/1685066/britney-spears-demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml”>ladies joining the show</a>.</P><P>”I don’t have any advice for those ladies,” “SYTYCD” host Cat Deeley told MTV News. “What I do like about it though is they will be able to absolutely impart some serious wisdom. I love the idea that they’ve been in the business for so long and since being kids, and so quite often they’ve had successes and they’ve had failures on things.</P><P>”And I think the most important thing is the mistakes we make,” she added. “You learn so much from mistakes that you make and I think they’ll be able to impart their wisdom to the new kids coming through. More than one billion cans will be imprinted with the late pop icon’s image.

<P>More than three years after <a href=”http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml”>Michael Jackson’s</a> <a href=”/news/articles/1614744/michael-jackson-dies-at-50.jhtml”>death</a>&#8232;, the pop icon will be at the beach, the pool, the 7-Eleven and everywhere in between this summer thanks to a new deal with PepsiCo.</P><P>According to <a href=”http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304746604577381792902984470.html?KEYWORDS=pepsi” target=”_blank”><I>The Wall Street Journal</I></a> the #2 soda company is going back to the future with a massive campaign that will have Jackson’s image imprinted on more than one billion cans of soda as part of its new global “Live For Now” marketing push.</P><P></p><div class=”player-placeholder right” title=”Remembering Michael Jackson - One Year Later” id=”id:1642144” width=”415” height=”255”></div><p></P><P>Nearly 30 years after Jackson first agreed to be the voice of the brand, an agreement has been reached with Jackson’s estate, though reps for both sides declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal. When Jackson signed on to shill Pepsi in 1984 he was paid a then-record $5 million. A representative for the estate said the PepsiCo campaign is the first branding deal executed since Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 50.</P><P>While Jackson was handsomely paid in the 1984 deal, it was during the filming of an ad for that sponsorship that his life was forever altered. While shooting a commercial for Pepsi, a pyro effect went wrong and Jackson’s hair caught fire, seriously burning his face and scalp and requiring multiple skin grafts and resulting in intense pain. It has been speculated that Jackson’s addiction to pain medications may have begun after the mishap.</P><P>The new campaign is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s <I>Bad</I> album. PepsiCo will start distributing the special-edition cans in China this weekend and they will arrive in the U.S. later this month. The 16-ounce, collector’s-edition can in the U.S. will feature a special download code that will link to downloads of <I>Bad</I> remixes. Though TV ads will debut in China later this month, it has not been determined yet if similar spots will air in the U.S.</P><P><a href=”http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615”><img src=”http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg”></a></p>
